80 members of the public were killed due to work-related accidents in 2021/22.
Excludes deaths to 'patients and service users' in the healthcare and adult social care sectors in England.

Types of Fatality caused by:
- Falls from Height = 29
- Struck by moving vehicle = 23
- Struck by moving object = 18
- Contact with moving machinery = 15
- Trapped by something collapsing or overturning = 14
Age of persons who had fatalities of the 123 deaths:
Over 60+ yrs old = 29 No. = 24%
16-59yrs yrs old = 93 No. = 75%
1 unknown = 1%
Trend statements:
Over the long-term, there has been a downward trend in the rate of fatal injuries to workers, though in the recent years prior to the coronavirus pandemic, the rate had been broadly flat. In both 2020/21 (0.45 per 100,00 workers) and 2021/22 *(in part as ay July 2022 = (0.38 per 100,000 workers) the rate remains broadly in line with pre-pandemic levels.

Construction is a dangerous industry second to the worst industry records
from Agriculture, forestry & fishing.

Our "motto" for over 30+ years and was used very successfully in Malaysia as well as here in the UK.
In the 5 years we were posted out in Malaysia (South East Asia between 94-98), there's was not one single accident on any of our sites under our control and with over 5 Million Man hours worked.
We assisted and worked closely with Malaysia's own HSE. (DOSH) and worked closely with local contractors and businesses and played a key role in advancing Malaysia's Health and Safety ethos to large and small businesses.

We have the knowledge and a wide range of establishing Company procedures for all types of properties and building & construction sites for compliance to Health and Safety... *(but not limited to) and construction administration and managing construction projects by establishing good working systems across the board to ensure cost effective working methods, quality and profits for our clients.
However, there are some who do fall foul of the Law and thus the inevitable happens, some have been visited by the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) Inspectorate - the governing body charged with ensuring all employers, clients, employees, manufacturers, suppliers etc. comply with all aspects of Health and Safety Laws and Regulations.
In so doing, we have been called upon to assist such companies in successfully turning around their businesses around and with a wealth and knowledge have also rectified the issues and the HSE have been assured of progress and actions being taken to correct that a non-conformance will re-occur.
This takes both parties to work at it.
So as you can see, it's a two-way step forward in achieving a long term relationship; BUT to see the Company grow and get that job satisfaction that maybe, just maybe, we can save one life or injury from ever happening and aim for a zero tolerance target on accidents within the workplace and our industry.
When called to such client, firstly we asses their immediate H&S issues, but take a long term view and build on our client relationship by working with them.
On some occasions this will involve the HSE and their respective visiting inspectors.
We have over many years undertaken as mediator and advisory for the client and ensure they have the systems in place both in theory but more importantly in practice such as physically on site.

The HSE may insist if you cannot prove you have that you will need further guidance for training on several aspects. Alot of effort also from the clients to take the commitment and to reap the rewards of their own efforts.
